11:20 am	Otaku Fest 2009 (1/3) Oh yes. It's PICSPAM TIME!!! Some of you might remember my picspam of last year's Otaku Fest. Obviously I went again, and man this year it was more varied. Of course the NARUTO fandom was there, but my second favourite anime fandom also made an significant enough appearance. Yes, I am talking about HETALIA. And finally, my first MAIN ANIME FANDOM was there, yes, DRAGON BALL fandom appeared too. The reason? The dub actors of Goku and Vegeta were there, and all Peruvian otaku went nuts. Because as much as you love other fandoms, EVERYBODY loves DRAGON BALL. Why not? It is a freaking clasic? XD Anyway, without further ado: THE PICSPAM!!!! PS: As always you are welcome to correct me if I make a mistake in the NAME THAT ANIME CHARACTER game AND you can also participate because I am not otaku enough to know the name of every single one of them (or even their fandoms :P) Yeah, we start with the merchandising >__> See all the cool stuff I didn't buy because I am poor? :P ( Ok fine! 5:20 pm	Good-bye Zambo :( Arturo "Zambo" Cavero, a symbol of the Peruvian identity, and one of the best creole music singers, died today. :( Above is a video of a very emblematic song illustrated with Peruvian views. The author is Augusto Polo Campos. An Awesome Peruvian songwriter. On the guitar (and voice) is Oscar Aviles, THE FIRST GUITAR OF FREAKING PERU. 3:52 pm	So, many of you don't probably know but I have participated in my very first Naruto-themed exchange... The SasuNaru one... of course XD While I have participated in exchanges before, I felt myself very giddy and nervous about it since it had been some time since I've done fandom related stuff and the first time I posted fanart about Naruto XD Anyway, to cut the story short... This is the art I submitted ('cause I can rarely write anything longer than a double drabble before descending into cliche and/or PWP), for ladygizarme, whom I know as the author of Team 7 SNJ Fun and its sequel :P This is the fic I've got, from thursday_kat, whom I know for a nice if a bit depressing Team 7 fic, and a hot Neji/Kakashi one XD. The fic I got is Naru/Sasu/Gaara (FUCK YEAH!) and obviously Naru/Sasu. It is also made of awesome XD But I'd also like to invite you to see the rest of the master list, for they are made of awesome. 3:07 pm	HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE!!! Yes, I have seen it already. And I  must say something... it is BLEAK. And not only the storytelling... the bloody illuminations iS BLEAK. But I must say if Cinematography does not earn an Academy Nomination I'll be pretty pissed. Also, I was BLOODY DISTRACTED by home MANY SCENES differ from the book. And I'll enumerate some of them in no particular order: ( spoilery spoilery spoil spoil ) But it did have some wonderful parts!!! Like: ( moAr spoilers!!! ) Technically it was a good movie. The pace was a bit off though. Slow at parts, rushed at others. I totally blame the script first and editing second. It was a good directorial work though. And about the changes, I know it was made so the cuts made sense but still... from what I overheard, the people who didn't read the book were a bit lost. If not A LOT, in some cases. Also, this movie does not look very commercial. In fact, despite the funny parts, it was quite doom and gloom and obviously a transition movie. I liked it though. Not loved it. But like it. 1:42 pm	About the current bloody internal affairs of my country 2 Belgian volunteers were witnesses of a bloody conflict in North Perú. ( and for the link-a-phobic ones... ) And what do I think about it? I think what the jungle natives ask for is totally reasonable and within their rights. But I don't agree with how a handful of they are acting, specially since, while it does not say in the article, some policemen were kidnapped and supposedly tortured, killed and their remains defenestrated and paraded all over the place. This is the work of huge assholes and I hope they open up a new one for them. BUT these people are but a few of maladjusted assholes like I said, most natives were just defending themselves. Also, I don't totally blame the police since it was they were following orders mostly and we don't pay them to think but to act... ok, bad joke aside, while I do think all of us have lost something in this bloody affairs (first being the loss of what little respect we had for the current president... at least in my case) I think policemen are big loser here. As in... man, you get like $300 p/month and for what? To risk you life and attack your fellow Peruvian for a bunch of assholes who care nothing about you or your native brothers, but for how much money they are going to squeeze out of the jungle after those "poor ignorant manipulated" natives who of course "cannot possible have got to that conclusion of protecting their lands by themselves" get "their head oout of their asses" and "do what they tell them to do". As you can see, I DO totally blame the central government, including the congressmen, the ministers and the goddamn president for being asstards and totally ignoring their protests and walking all over they petitions to achieve this like civilized people. BTW, why have I taken the words of a Belgian NGO? Because most of our own media are biased and I got this one just when I had found a couple of ones who weren't and was about to translate 'em to English. So, thanks to my friend Carolina for sending this. Yes, I care but I am also lazy. Finally, here are some photos. 3:24 pm	Peruvian AnimeExpo. Part The One. So last Sunday, manzanitabob</lj> manzanitabob and I went to a small con that was also called AnimeExpo like the popular one in US I think :P But hey, it was mostly Naruto expo because like most of the times, it was the Naruto Fandom that ruled it XD This is the first one of probably two parts... Part The First is PG mostly, and Part The Second is PG-13 mostly... Let's just say the Naruto fandom was in a very YAOI mood that day :P Aren't they totally cute!!!! I was all OMG TEAM 7 HOW CUTE!!!!... And they were always together doing cute things like hugging and eating together and rolling around in the grass XD ( Or should I call it NarutoExpo? ) This is the best part of everything... manzanitabob</lj> manzanitabob got me a Gaara and I bough a Naruto XD Man, all I need is a Sasuke and I'll have me some hawt threesome til I wait until Tryptich updates. 11:12 am	So like 70% of my f-list... I went to watch the new Star Trek movie... who apparently is already called Star Trek: Reboot XD Man, I love it. I went with my brother, and an old friend of his (once girlfriend) who wasn't familiar with the franchise besides general popular knowledge. And there were a bunch of kids (probably just a bit younger than me/around my brother's age but still)... and one of then was obviously a fanboy. The kind who is very loud. It was annoying at first, but I couldn't help but feel endeared when in one of the moments he was just too loud to even his friends to bear and they told him to "shut the hell up" and he was all "fuck you, let me LIVE this movie!!!" Anyway, the movie... I... I actually teared up a bit after it ended. Dunno if it's because it was just that awesome or because I am a gigantic wuss. Maybe a combination of a bit of both... Man, it was like reliving my childhood. I remember being 10 years old and watching Star Trek: The Next Generation or the Original Series movies on the TV, with my dad and my brother, while mum muttering in the background about us watching "idiotic things" (Nothing personal about Star Trek, she just didn't enjoy what we liked to watch... like Looney Tunes) and they were such wonderful memories... My brother was also very excited at the end of it... and he also commented about how he remembered those things from his late childhood and early adolescence. And how those were powerful memories of his bonding with our father over something. And how the movie was cool and totally didn't ruin his childhood memories like the Dragon Ball: Evolution movie did XD (Yeah I totally agree with that too). Man, I almost cried over that freaking movie... I ALMOST CRIED OVER THE NEW STAR TREK MOVIE!!!! I am such an über-geek! But the movie was just that great for it. It was awesome. Its sound effects, its special effects, its plot, its script, its characters... OMG THE CHARACTERS!!! It was like watching old friends again only younger and more attractive!!! James Fucking Tiberius Kirk, Mr. oh-so-sexy Spock, Leonard H. "I'm a doctor" "Bones" McCoy, Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, Nyota "I'm the sexiest smartest woman on board" Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, and Pavel Andreievich "I'm so cute" Chekov Man... and all the inside jokes and all the references... AND THE CATCHPHRASES!!! And then... LEONARD NIMOY. I FUCKING LOVE YOU, LEONARD NIMOY!!! ... And the plot itself, was awesome because it washed its hands about how we can do a reboot without totally ruining the Original Series but also doing new stuff. And the ending... I was tearing up then... Oh man! And loud!fanboy was all "classy :D :D :D" Finally... THIS? MY FREAKING HET STAR TREK: TOS OTP BABY!!! SO HELL YESSSSSSSSS!!! Oh course you all now the slashy one is Spock/Kirk because DUH!!!! Then let me help you: See now?!?! "Space... the Final Frontier, these are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. 12:33 pm	Naruto Movie 5: KIZUNA So over the weekend I finally got to watch Shippuuden Movie 2: Kizuna. And like all Naruto movies, the plot was lame but it was full of awesome fanservice XD ( MY VERY SPOILERY THOUGHTS ON KIZUNA... ON CAPSLOCK ) Yeah, I liked the movie enough as far as Naruto movies go. And this Sue while angsty was less annoying than say... that annoying kid from Movie 3. Still, in the end all Mary Sues and Gary Stus in movies want to tap Naruto's ass. BTW, here's The Gaara Song...
